Baptisms

Baptisms are a sign of a commitment to follow Jesus and a sign of belonging to a community of faith.

Some people get baptised as an adult and make a commitment to follow Jesus, some parents choose to have their children baptised and make a commitment to raise them in the Christian faith.

Baptisms take place during our regular Sunday Services at All Saints or St Mark’s churches. We hold them as part of our regular service, because Baptism is about becoming part of the church community, so it’s important for that community to be present to welcome them.

We ask all those seeking baptism to attend either All Saints or St Marks, where you can have a chat to the Vicar after the Sunday service about what’s involved.

Additional information

Livestream

We livestream and record the service at All Saints so if you are getting baptised, people can watch online if they can’t make it in person. There is a single fixed camera facing the front of the church – unless you are in the front 3 rows of seats, you will not be shown on the livestream.

Catering

As baptisms take place on a Sunday during our regular service, we have our usual morning tea to follow. Unfortunately we can’t offer a separate space for a private catered event on Sundays.
