Funerals, memorials & burials
Funeral & Memorial services
Thank you for considering All Saints Burwood to help you at this challenging time. At such a time, grief, sorrow, and bereavement are both natural and appropriate. We would like to help you remember the life of your loved one and to share the hope we have in God’s grace and power over death. Funerals and memorials can take place at both All Saints Burwood and nearby historic St Marks Church.
We offer a traditional Anglican service officiated by either the Vicar, Deacon, or church celebrant, who will work with you to ensure that it fits your family and loved one. They will meet with you and your family to plan the funeral service and explain the various options that you have to make it a special and meaningful farewell.
Any person may have a funeral or memorial service at All Saints Burwood church, regardless of membership and where they have been or are to be interred (buried).
-
Funeral Directors manage all logistical arrangements for funerals which normally include; attending to legal requirements, booking the church, publishing a Death Notice, and printing service sheets.
-
A funeral service can be led by anyone, it doesn’t have to be our Vicar, Deacon or church celebrant. You can organise an alternative celebrant or other person to lead the service, which either you or your Funeral Director would need to organise directly.
Booking a service
Funerals can be held on any day except Sunday, providing the church building is not otherwise booked. The funeral director, or you and your family, can contact us using our Enquiry Form to check the availability of the church and staff (including the Vicar/Deacon/church celebrant) for the service on your preferred date/s.
