First Sunday of Advent

Today we being the season of Advent and light the first of four advent candles.

The first representing Hope / Tumanako.

Looking at the passage from Isaiah chapter 4, we are called to remember what God has done in the past, so when you look to the future you can have hope.

What are the stories in your life that show God at work?

We are reminded that it does not matter what we have done, it does not need to define us. God will give us love and forgiveness.

That is the invitation of this season, a longing for God to be with us but a knowledge that God is with us and can transform us right now.

Isaiah 64:1-9

Psalm 103:12
