Welcome

It’s great to have you join us this morning. A special welcome to you if you are new here. We hope you’ll stay around after the service and say hi.

Kia tau te rangimarie,

Carolyn.

Today’s service

It's great to welcome James Beck to our service this morning to share with us. I'm looking forward to being inspired and challenged as he talks about Creation Care.

Next week we have Harry Steele from the UK sharing with us, That will be another great talk!

We're looking forward to Oct 29th when, as a church community, we will gather at both the 9am and 10.30am services to to take the time to still ourselves and listen to what God might be calling us into.

Today - James Beck

James is the Part time A Rocha Liaison person for Eco Churches in Christchurch. He is also a church pastor and speaker.

You can check out his podcast on Spotify called: Ngā Here. This looks at questions about what our faith and what the Bible might have to say about the way that we live and about how we care for creation and each other, and questions about how Māori and Pākehā can learn from each other and grow together as we care for the whenua.

Oct 15th - Harry Steele

Harry is a Priest in England. He helps churches look at how they can be missional in their community. He runs conferences around the world and we are lucky that he is in Christchurch in the week before Oct 15th and is able to come a share with us on Sun Oct 15th. Harry is a great communicator. You can hear a message of his here; Rev Harry Steele: Turn to Jesus Podcast.

Eco Church

Weekly tip:

Fairtrade chocolate is a delicious option. The packaging is often compostable, there are lots of dairy-free options, you can usually find it at your supermarket, and you can enjoy it knowing no-one was mistreated in the process of making it!

Soft Plastic recycling

Bring along your soft plastics to drop off in the black collection bin at the church entrance on Sunday mornings. The Eco Church group will take it to a local collection point to be made into fence posts for farms and vineyards. More info: www.recycling.kiwi.nz
