Welcome
It’s great to have you join us this morning. A special welcome to you if you are new here. We hope you’ll stay around after the service and say hi.
Kia tau te rangimarie,
Carolyn.
Today’s Service
In our readings this week, Jesus challenges his disciples to take a path that is wholly unfamiliar to them. It is the path of becoming a child. Instead of grasping for power and arguing over who is the greatest, Jesus turns their expectations upside down.
If you want to follow the way of Jesus you have to be willing to put power aside.
This is a theme that is returned to over and over again in the gospels. It is something we need to return to over and over again in our lives as we learn to follow Jesus and put aside our own ambitions.
Mark 9:30-37
Each week we will have one of our children read a Psalm from ‘Psalms for Young Children’ by Marie-Hélène Delval,.
Followed by a member from our congregation leading prayers. If you would like to revisit and reflect on today’s prayer, you can find it over at our Prayers Page
