Peace | Rangimarie | Luke 3:1-6

Today we light the second candle of advent, Peace | Rangimarie and reflect on what that looks like in New Zealand today in light of the Submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill.

As people who follow the way of Christ, we declare that God wants peace on earth and we have to honour the promises made, it is not our job to throw them away.

In the words of 12 year old Eliza Hegglun in her own submission on the Treaty Principles Bill: "Gods will should be done. And God's will is what is just and right and changing the Tiriti is not right!"

Make your voice heard too with a submission to Parliament before 31 December. https://togetherfortetiriti.nz/make-a-submission/

Prayers & Psalms

Each Sunday, prior to the sermon we have created a space for more voices from our community; One of our children read a Psalm from ‘Psalms for Young Children’ by Marie-Hélène Delval.

Followed by a prayer, shared by a member of our congregation, focused around what's happening in the world, our country and our community. We have included these on our Prayers Page for you to revisit and reflect on the words that they shared.
