Truth | Mark 6:14-29

This week we read the story of the death of John the Baptist.

The story of John is a reminder that we are called to be people who tell the truth, and who listen to the truth. Sometimes we are called to speak the truth even when people won't like us for it or even when it is difficult. This was John's calling.

Our challenge is can we tell the truth even when it is uncomfortable? Can we listen to truth even when it is uncomfortable and act on that?

Mark 6:14-29

Hope for the Holy Land

The one inevitable outcome of armed conflict is the significant loss of human life and dignity – on any side.

The Diocese of Jerusalem is receiving funds from Anglicans around the world to support Al Ahli Anglican Hospital which is currently open, providing medical assistance and shelter to those in the North of Gaza. During a brief ceasefire, the World Health Organization (WHO) was able to oversee a delivery to the hospital, which remains the only functional medical centre in the northern part of Gaza.
