Welcome

It’s great to have you join us this morning. A special welcome to you if you are new here. We hope you’ll stay around after the service and say hi.

Kia tau te rangimarie,

Carolyn.

Today’s service

Today we look at how Jesus used parables that revealed the truth about God's kingdom while simultaneously challenging the commonly held world views of many of those to whom He spoke.

Our English word talents comes from the parable we look at today, The Parable of The Bags of Gold, and it could be interpreted about how you use your gifts and abilities, but as we look at the audience this parable was addressed to how it can change the interpretation.

Prayer & Vision

It’s exciting to see the first initiative launched from our prayer and vision morning three weeks ago. Many of the young people wanted to do a local version of the Christmas shoebox and so signed up with Koha tree. Last week15 households put their names down to provide a Christmas box to a child in need. If you missed out signing up last week and want to be a part go to: kohatree.co.nz

Building updates

Please help keep everyone safe by being mindful that the property is changing; Please stay out of construction areas marked by construction fences, road cones, and other barriers; Drive slowly and carefully around site; Let church staff know if you ever spot something you feel is unsafe; and remind your children to stay away from the construction zone. Thanks!

Meals Meals Meals

We need more meals for our church freezer so that we can take some pressure off when people are sick, have a new baby, or are going through a tough time. Please bring a frozen meal or two to Church on Sunday if you can. If you are unable to cook, but could bring meal ingredients that is a great help too!

Giving

We are so grateful to all those who contribute financially to the life of the church. You are helping to ensure that All Saints can continue to thrive and grow for future generations.

If you would like to join those who give regularly, you can find all the details you’ll need on the Giving Page.

Weekly tip:

Compostable bags: A mixed blessing. They CAN’T go in your green bin (home/commercial compost only). They can’t be recycled in your yellow bin or soft plastics. If they go to landfill, they release greenhouse gases. If you’re using them to hold rubbish, try a paper supermarket bag or line the bin with newspaper instead. Your organics will be going in your green bin or compost pile, so your rubbish will usually be dry. The used, empty paper can later go in your green bin or home compost. Dog poo bags can be replaced with waste soft plastics from your pantry e.g. bags from cereal or frozen foods.

Soft Plastic recycling

Bring along your soft plastics to drop off in the black collection bin at the church entrance on Sunday mornings. The Eco Church group will take it to a local collection point to be made into fence posts for farms and vineyards. More info: www.recycling.kiwi.nz
